The "times we live in" are by far the best in history. It is only the unhappy who claim they are not and attempt to make others as miserable as they are. Had we been alive in ... say ... 1900, we would most likely agree with this positive observation!

"...the times we are living in..."
by bez inso, just had one of our 'elders' ring to see how we are getting on and if we need any help etc.. when my hubby was honest and said we were ok and that we had decided to just move on with our lives and our family right now and concentrate on that and nothing else, but thanked him for their interest and care over last few months.... he replied by saying, ok, he would let the body of elders know this???
?, and he also reminded him to not forget "the times we are living in".... my husband told me the conversation after coming off the phone and now i feel, after being on a high the last couple of weeks (despite coming off my anti-d's cold turkey, drs orders) , i feel now actually really crap, quite scared and once again like i am making a bad decision for my kids... what is wrong with me!!!.

The Higher Power of my understanding ...
by The Berean inafter observing several generations of former jws battle with the process of moving on in life it is my opinion that until one replaces the power named jehovah with an optional explanation of spirituality it is difficult to completley purge the influence which lingers.. so to any who wish to share, i ask, who or what is now the "god or force of your understanding"?.

Do You Still Believe the Bible is God's Word?
by cantleave inif so why???.
btw - i just see it as collection of old books written by men who reflected the thinking and knowledge of their time?.

If it truly is, Why did Jesus leave events to interpretation rather than writing books himself?

Has the "new order" already begun?
by The Berean inlooking back at the year 1914 , it is obvious that the way mankind lives today is far superior.
in the us, for instance, the life span for men of that era was in the low 50s while today men can expect to live well into their seventies.
advanced communication, transportation, entertainment, health care, housing, and machines of all types make life so much more enjoyable for us in 2010. furthurmore, i have yet to speak to anyone who wishes they were living in earlier times.

So, is it possible that a new era of enlightenment is already underway and things aren't as bad as some religions teach?

response from Ray Franz on generation change
by isaacaustin inthanks for your letter and the thoughts contained.
others had commented on the latest shift of the interpretation of this generation.
as you recognize this allows for an unending extension of time and likely stems from an awareness of the approach of the year 2014 marking 100 years since the date of 1914.. .

My heart goes out to the masses of JW humanity, past and present, who "sold out" their opportunity to contribute to the real world while placing all their eggs in the the basket of a juggler ...

Are Jehovah's Witnesses the demonic "Angel of Light"?
by The Berean infor the protection of human beings would it not be important to precisely identify the current threat?.
or do evil spirits not really exist at all?.

I believe that "everything is fake." Reality is too fatalistic ...

Jen: This is going to come from right field ...
Marquita is dying of cancer. She is terribly ill from the chemo. While I love her, that is of little consolation. Her Mother and Father have past and her ex-husband left her brokenhearted. She is lonely She can't talk well and is trying hard to br positive. So, while you may be in distress because of what others say ... I hope you have enough health to realize maybe it's all relative and not so bad ...
